Zippia’s Most Successful Cities in Georgia

Which Georgia cities made the list of “Most Successful”?  No matter what this list by Zippia reveals, we all have a love for our hometowns, and can tell you the reasons we think it’s the best city in Georgia. Zippia claims their formula is objective and “unarguable”. Not surprising that OTP cities did well and if yours didn’t make the cut, don’t fret, there’s sure to be another list by another company next month.

  3. Suwanee
  4. Pooler
  5. Johns Creek
  6. Peachtree City
  7. Roswell

Zippia looked at this set of criteria from the 2010-2014 American Community Survey:

  • Poverty Level
  • Median Household Income
  • Unemployment Rate

According to them, median household income is the most digestible way to understand how wealthy a place really is. The unemployment rate tries to capture the prospects for more people to become rich. And finally, if more people are employed, the brighter (and more successful) that place’s future looks.

After they collected the data for all 127 places with more than 5,000 people in Georgia, they ranked each place from 1 to 127 for each of the criteria, with 1 being the most successful.

Then, they averaged all the rankings for a place into a “Success Score” with the place having the lowest overall Success Score crowned the “Most Successful City in Georgia.”
