Village Market & Cafe Woodstock

When a new place opens OTP, we usually like to give it a month or two for the restaurant or store to work out the kinks or receive all their inventory before we “Scoop” it for our fans.

The owners Danny and Peggy Snow also own Ice Martini & Sushi Bar, a popular nightspot.

We love the concept — and if you live in Downtown Woodstock, I imagine you are thrilled. Fresh salads, quiche, great sandwiches on breads, wraps, croissants, and an interesting combinations of flavors.

In addition, they have wine, 10 different draft beers including local Reformation Brewery, appetizer items (high-end jams, crackers, fresh pastas) to bring home, and other giftables. They even carry Tate’s Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies if you desire!

Their goal is to have the basics on stock and then these fun specialty food additions that make great appetizers or gifts. Here’s their website for more information.

10403229_988360417856628_5722439345878040883_nWe enjoyed their chicken salad (must try that everywhere I go), a HUGE Cobb salad (Elaine from Seinfield would have been thrilled), their traditional quiche, and tomato basil soup. Everything was fresh and tasty. They also serve Dr. Brown’s, which was a nice alternative for soda (although they also serve Coke products). Plus, they offer The Better Chip brand which has beet or kale chips — don’t knock it till you try it!

They are still waiting on their scale so that customer have the option to bring home fresh deli meat. They’re also anticipating growlers for draft beer, and ice for drinks! Since we are both ice junkies, we hope that will change in the near future!

They did have great fresh and tasty food that was served with a smile. The cafe is truly happy to be a part of Woodstock, and you can see that from their friendly interaction with both their new and repeat guests. It’s fast-casual; you order and they bring it to your seat. They offer outside seating, too.

I definitely want to come back for their cheese and meat platter served with a bottle of wine. Now that sounds perfect after a “tough day” of shopping at Downtown Woodstock!

In reality, the only thing tough is finding a parking spot!
