Try Tapas at Red Sky Tapas & Bar

My sister-in-law Mary Ann is very organized. So, not knowing what her husband would be craving for his birthday dinner, she made multiple reservations and then let him pick. He chose Red Sky Tapas & Bar.

As we have said, it is impossible for us to go out to eat all the time — so when a trusted Scooper (same last name and all!) says she loves a restaurant, I take her word for it. Here’s what she had to say:

After hearing great things about Red Sky Tapas & Bar, we finally had a chance to try it.

According to the dictionary, tapas are small Spanish savory dishes, typically served with drinks at a bar. They offer a variety of tapas dishes including pizzas, salads, tacos, seafood, and steak items that are all designed to share. The prices are reasonable and allow for your taste buds to try several different ends of the spectrum without breaking the bank.

They also offer a boutique drink menu, with a dessert menu to match. Live music and entertainment, like acoustic guitar or dueling pianos, is offered most nights of the week — which is always nice when dining out.

We started the evening with cocktails: A Mom’s Manhattan Martini (Knob Creek, muddled orange, simple syrup, lemon juice and basil), and a Cucumber Mint (Ketel One Vodka, cucumber, mint and simple syrup). Both were refreshing and different.

Red Sky also has an extensive wine menu, so we chose a Red Pinot Noir with the help of our server to compliment our dishes. The Queso dish was my least favorite, but that was fine since everything else was off the chart with flavor.

Side note: according to CBS, Red Sky Tapas is one of the best bars for singles in the Atlanta area, as the East Cobb Singles’ group meets there. Since their tagline is, “Where FUN goes to have a good time,” I would imagine this is good Scoop for all you singles!

Last but not least, we ordered dessert. We tried the Cheesecake Flan & Aztec Chocolate and Caramel Ice Cream. It consisted of Puerto Rican Flan with spicy Aztec chocolate and caramel ice cream on top. Wow! Need I say more?

(Suzanne’s side note: My sister-in-law makes the most amazing cheesecakes, so for her to be impressed is a true testament to fantastic flavor!)

The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The owner also circulated around to make sure everything was up to our standards. I wholeheartedly recommend Red Sky Tapas, and you can follow them on Facebook for the latest news. We cannot wait to come back again and try more items on the menu.

Red Sky Tapas & Bar is located at 1255 Johnson Ferry Road Suite 16 in Marietta, Georgia near Merchant Walk Cinemas.
They open at 4pm daily.

Mary Ann Taylor grew up in East Cobb and now resides in the same area with her husband and two teenagers. She loves the great restaurants that are close to her home.
