It is no secret that you can get your hands on a Hershey bar just about anywhere you go. But there are occasions, like the upcoming Valentine’s Day and Easter holidays that everyday, run-of-the mill chocolate just won’t do. At least not for people like me, who, I’ll just admit it, have chocolate “problems.”

It’s during these holidays that I justify searching for better chocolate. Before moving to Georgia, I had my go-to chocolatier, Malley’s Chocolate in Cleveland Ohio. I’ve even shipped it here so I could have it for Easter. So you can imagine my joy when I found Schakolad Chocolate Factory right here in Roswell!

The choices and varieties of chocolates are endless. The best thing about a store like Schakolad is that the chocolates are small, bite size pieces, making it super easy to just buy one of each flavor that you wish to try. All of the chocolates are made daily on the premise, and custom orders are welcome.

This may have been the most interesting thing I learned at Shakolad: they offer birthday parties and summer camps! I picked up the flier for the kids birthday party, which includes making your own chocolate pizza, learning to write in chocolate, and a chocolate fountain. The summer camp teaches chocolate making and many more chocolate related activities. I failed to ask if grown ups could attend any of these events, but I am planning on finding a way!

With roots reaching back to Argentina and Europe, Schakolad has been in the states since 1995. The only Georgia location is the Roswell store — how lucky is that? So if you feel like you could use a break from the drug store variety chocolate, check out Schakolad. You will be glad you did! And tell them Scoop sent you.
