Roswell’s Restaurant Scene Expands

The Current Hub and the AJC have reported a few new places coming to Roswell; so here’s the Scoop on their expanding restaurant scene.

In historic Roswell, MidiCi – The Neapolitan Pizza Co., an Encino, California-based restaurant chain has filed an application to renovate a vacant property near Canton Street in Roswell. The property, located at 872 Atlanta Street is where MidiCi is looking to expanding in Georgia. logo

The pizza franchise is led by the same team that quickly turned Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt into the world’s largest self-serve frozen yogurt franchise, and they expect to duplicate or exceed that success with MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company. MidiCi is aiming to open 1,000 new locations in the next ten years.

In the past year, Pizzeria Lucca and Zuzzu, a taste of Sicily both opened in Roswell. Time will tell who make next year’s Best Pizza OTP list.

Butter and Cream, an ice cream shop in Decatur that makes small batch ice cream, is planning to open a location “right off Canton Street in downtown Roswell” according to their butter and cream Scoop OTPFacebook page. They plan on announcing a specific date and location in early 2017. Their second location will not affect their original shop located at 416 Church Street in Decatur.

For those of you that love the Brewery scene that has been exploding all over OTP, it continues with another beer company coming to Roswell next summer. From the Earth Brewing Company Roswell Scoop OTPFrom the Earth Brewing Company has announced it will  open on October 20th, 2017 on Holcomb Bridge, and will feature a chef driven seasonal menu in addition to craft cocktails, wine, and of course, beer. This brewery will be joining Gate CityAbbey of the Holy Goats, and the proposed Variant brewery, also located in Roswell.
