RAIN DATE CHANGED TO JUNE 13 FROM 6pm TO midnight!

I think everyone knows someone who has been touched by Cancer.  Relay for Life is an event that happens all across the world in 20,000 communities and in 20 different countries.  Friday night, May 9, the all-night walk (due to rain date, now ends at 12)  is in Cherokee County at Woodstock  High School starting at 6pm. Teams walk all night to remember loved ones and raise awareness for this disease. This year’s theme is, “Cancer Is Not A Game.”

According to the Cherokee Tribune, 73 teams are entered with 1,200 participants who have so far raised $138,000 of the collective $280,000 goal.  Many schools are involved in this great cause. Many of the teams have booths with game themed concepts.  It’s a site to see!  Luminaries can be purchased in memory or to honor someone who has battled this disease.

One team we have been following is the BridgeMill Sixes Service League.  The chair, a survivor, has so much dedication and energy for this cause that ScoopOTP had to give them a shout out! Here is their link to donate.  To donate to the general event, click here.
