Oka-B Shoes: Style & Sensibility

Oka-B Scoop OTPI’m not going to lie, we get invited to some really cool events. The Oka-B Fall Shoe Show was one of them. Honestly, I would be lying if I said I had already been familiar with Oka-B, whose parent company is Okabashi — known for their physician-approved flip flops and sandals. But I learn something everyday!

So here’s what we learned about this cool, local company. Oka-B was started based on the theory that fashion and comfort should not be mutually exclusive, which is good news for many women I know — like it or not. And at first glance, you might mistake an Oka-B ballet flat for a 1980’s jelly shoe, but once its on your foot you can feel the difference.

The show we attended introduced the Emery, and new wedge style “transitional shoe,” perfect for the changing seasons, which is something I am constantly searching for. Again, instant comfort when trying on these wedges.

Oka-B shoes are made out of recycled materials in a low-waste facility in Scoop OTPBuford. The family-owned company is very proud of the fact that they employ 250 people in the Atlanta area without having to go overseas to make their products. You can even return your used shoes back to them to be recycled! They have been involved in charitable causes too, including Soles4Soles and the American Cancer Society.

Oka-B shoes are sold at several spas and salons in the metro Atlanta area, including Chateau Elan, but hopefully will be available in some OTP boutiques soon! Ordering online is just as easy though, and they often offer free shipping. And, if you follow us on Facebook, we might just have a give away for a lucky fan.

So if you find yourself wanting to look fashionable, but are starting to realize that you just can’t sacrifice the comfort like you used to, check out Oka-B. Your feet will thank you!
