Hawg & Ale Smokehouse, a barbecue restaurant with one other location in Peachtree Corners, is opening a location in Marietta in the space that was previously Chantico Burrito. While fans were sad to see Chantico go, Hawg & Ale sounds very promising.
Chantico owners are combining forces with the folks at Hawg & Ale to bring barbecue to the Square. Buddy Finethy, a 30 year restauranteur from Mellow Mushroom and one of the partners, spoke with us and described the barbecue as some of the best in Atlanta. The group felt there was a need for more barbecue choices on the Square, so they are converting Chantico into the new restaurant, aiming for a January opening.
Along with bringing great food to the table, Finethy wants to create a unique dining experience by creating a fun and entertaining atmosphere. Pop culture and a nod to Rick Flare will be part of the theme and decor of the new establishment, so get ready for more than just good food.
Hawg & Ale Smokehouse will be located at 25 Powder Springs Street in Marietta, just off the square. Stay tuned for updates and menu choices, and for more great barbecue OTP check out what our food critic has to say. Follow us on Facebook for more Scoop.
