Children’s Park of Georgia

Scoop OTP is proud to spotlight this Cheers for Charity project.

All of us want to celebrate our amazing children and one local organization has come up with a way to do just that. Remember Georgia’s Children Foundation is currently raising money to build The Children’s Park of Georgia — a beautiful park that celebrates the lives of all children.

HonoringMemories

Following the loss of her premature daughter ten years ago, Christy Zeigler looked for a way to honor her. She found a beautiful park in Tyler, Texas and after visiting the park, decided our community needed one as well.

“The dual mission of these two parks is to celebrate the lives of all children — those with us and those who have gone on, those who are thriving, and those who are medically fragile or struggling with special needs,” Zeigler said. “The life of every child should be celebrated.”

FindingPeace

Modeled after the Texas park, The Children’s Park of Georgia will be a place where families from all over the state and region will come to be refueled in their journey. They will find comfort and renewed focus to cherish each moment with their precious children.

The park will include beautiful trails that will form the shape of a butterfly and lead to themed gardens defined by trees and landscaping. Families with kids of all ages will love to gather at the park for leisurely strolls, engaging exploration, and fun events. Children will be amazed at the wonderland of colors and friendly statues of children and animals at play.

CelebratingLife

This first phase of fundraising for the park allows for parents to become “founding mothers and fathers” or “founding grandmothers or grandfathers.” For a donation of $100 or more, names of donors will be listed on a plaque in the park once it is built.

The park, planned for Canton, GA, will be a unique place that will welcome families near and far.

“It is a place children will love to visit to play and feel special, a place great for long walks, great talks and quality family time,” Zeigler said. “We all go through times when we could really use a beautiful, safe, quiet place to process, be restored and find peace. It’s important to me that our community have a place like this,” she said.
