Apple Picking and Pumpkin Patches

‘Tis the season to pick apples and visit pumpkin patches – so many to choose from! Here is a quick reference for what Scoop thinks are the best in OTP (and a little bit north) for all the fall fun you can handle! Pick Your Own Apple Orchards – Even though the Georgia Apple Festival isn’t officially until October 13th-14th and the 2oth-21st, you can get a head start now and beat the crowds.

applesHillcrest Orchards, Ellijay. Starts September 8th-October 28th. Open 9:00 – 6:00 every Saturday and Sunday through October. Petting Zoo too!

Red Apple Barn, Ellijay. Monday-Saturday 9:00 – 6:00, Sunday 12:00 – 5:30.

BJ Reece Orchards, Ellijay. Open 9:00 – 6:00 daily.

Mercier Orchards, Blue Ridge. Open Saturday and Sundays 10:00 – 4:00

Pumpkin Patches

Pumpkin-Patch-0056Burt’s Farm, Dawsonville. Open weekdays 9:00 – 6:00.

Southern Belle Farm, McDonough. Opening September 22nd. Fridays 4:00-9:00, Saturdays 10:00 – 9:00, Sundays 10:00 – 6:00.  They also have a 4 acre corn maze!

Berry Patch Farms, Woodstock. Open weekends starting October 1st 10:00 – 7:00, and weekdays October 17-28th from 3:30 to 7:00.

Yahoo Farms, Jasper. Open daily starting September 22nd-October 31st, 10:00 – 6:00, Saturdays until 10:00 PM.

Big Springs Farms, Woodstock. Open Friday from 12-6:00, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00-6:00 throughout October.

Please verify with each pumpkin patch that they are open on the day you wish to visit, due to weather.
